Road Repairs

construction

A lot of times when travel is interrupted in Mt. Lebanon, it's not road construction at all, but the consequences of utility upgrades, such as new water or gas lines, or repairs of aging infrastructure. When that work will impact a large number of drivers or an entire neighborhood, we'll post that work here, and the schedule, if the utility contractor provides it to us.

Pennsylvania American Water Company project set to start on Hoodridge Drive

Contractors will begin the first phase of a new water main installation on Hoodridge Drive, starting March 27. The Pennsylvania American Water Company project, which runs along Hoodridge from the Castle Shannon border to the intersection of Rockwood Avenue, will begin with the saw cutting of the pavement by contractor Casper Colosimo & Sons Inc.

A single lane of roadway will remain open to alternating local traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during this phase of construction, set to be completed by April 14, weather permitting.

No parking signs will be posted on the street where work is underway. Parking will be permitted in the no-parking area overnight and on weekends. Vehicles must be moved during work hours.

The next two phases of the project, which will include installation of new service lines to each individual home and the paving and restoration of disturbed properties, will follow at a later date. Residents will be notified in advance.

Special arrangements can be made with the onsite supervisor to help relieve any unseen situations. The onsite contact is Dave Snatchko, who can be reached at 412-719-8717.
