Potholes...what to do...

See a pothole or other road hazard?

We know it sounds weird, but if you see a pothole that could cause an accident, please call 911. Dispatch will send a police officer to assess the danger. If police feel it's an immediate problem, they'll dispatch public works to take care of it.

It may not even be a Mt. Lebanon road and we'd have to call in the county...if that's the case, calling 911 will make sure that call is logged and sent to the proper agency.

Calling 911 also puts the hazard on the record and if cars become damaged, those people will have recourse for insurance.

We know...we know...we've told you not to call 911 if it's not important. The new thinking is to call 911 if you need a first responder on the scene. The call will be triaged and answered when it is safe.
