Mt. Lebanon’s Community Relations Board is searching for creative and original student artwork that captures themes of unity and diversity in our community. The goal is to inspire and promote cultural unity and fight discrimination within Mt. Lebanon.
All middle and high school students who live in Mt. Lebanon are welcome to participate, regardless of the school they attend. The Community Relations Board will choose two winners, one from grades 6 to 8 and one in grades 9 to 12.
Winners will have the artwork printed on T-shirts and postcards, produced by Commonwealth Press. Mt. Lebanon Magazine will feature the artists and artwork, which also will be on display in the Mt. Lebanon Municipal Building. The Mt. Lebanon Library also will use winning art to promote its yearlong unity programming theme.
Art must be submitted online in the form of a file (.jpg, .gif or .png) that is at least 800px on the longest side with a resolution of 72dpi. Digital creations are welcome, along with a scan or clear photograph of physical paintings or drawings. The author’s signature should be visible on the artwork.
Entries can be sent to Community Relations Board Staff Liaison Susan Morgans at firstname.lastname@example.org. All entries must be submitted by July 1, 2017 and must include the name, age, grade, school, address and daytime or cell phone number of the artist. Finalists will be notified and asked to submit their original work.
