The academy complements Mt. Lebanon’s successful fire and police academies. It provides a broad introduction to all aspects of local government, giving participants a look at the community’s successes and challenges, as well as an appreciation of how tax dollars are spent.

Academy participants will hear from various municipal departments and related agencies as well as the school district from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  on eight Thursdays from January 6 through March 3.  The first session is in the municipal building, but some sessions will take place at other facilities, such as the library, public safety center or rec center, depending on the topic. Some walking, including stairs, may be involved.
