Columbia Gas is placing nearly 29,000 feet of underground pipe along portions of Bird Park Drive, Cedar Boulevard, Martha Avenue, Mayfair Drive, Parkridge Lane, Vee Lynn Drive, Vernon Drive, Washington Road, Whitby Lane and Youngwood Road. Work will last through late 2021 and will take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Drivers will encounter lane restrictions during working hours, along with possible Saturday work. For details, click here.

The contractor hopes to have Cedar Boulevard wrapped up by August 9 or 10. When that happens, the road will be opened until the contractors repave the road. We do not yet have a date for that final restoration.

Castle Shannon Boulevard

Due to waterline installation work, drivers will encounter lane restrictions on Castle Shannon Boulevard from Wednesday, September 22, through late October. The work will take place at the intersection with Canal Street on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. For additional information, contact Scott Hilty at 412-787-1266.

Washington Road

This milling and resurfacing project, while mostly outside of Mt. Lebanon's borders, will continue to cause congestion on Route 19 south of Gilkeson Road. The project includes base repairs, drainage and guide rail upgrades, inlet adjustments, updating ADA curb ramps, signal upgrades and mountable curb repair on Route 19. Additionally, concrete bridge deck repairs and overlay work is needed on ramps near the McMurray Road intersection. Motorists can expect off-peak single-lane restrictions on Route 19, as well as ramp closures with detours. The project is expected to conclude in mid-summer 2022.
