Pilates is a total body workout that focuses on the abs, thighs, and hips to create the long, sculpted muscles that this bodywork method is famous for. Instead of mindless repetition, Pilates uses more than 500 different movements to slim the muscles and make them more compact, developing sleekness rather than bulk. Each movement is done just a few times so that participants go only as far as they can and then go on to another motion. The result is a strong, flexible, energetic and coordinated body.
